Optometrist

Dr. Thunya Walker grew up in Florida.  She completed her bachelor's degree at the University of Florida then went on to earn her Doctorate of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Tennessee.  She has extensive experience in the management of a variety of eye diseases, including dry eye treatment, diabetes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, myopia management and specialty contact lens fitting. 

Dr. Walker's dedication to treating dry eye disease springs from her own experience with chronic dry eyes, which she knows can be profoundly challenging. She is enthusiastic about introducing new treatment options for dry eye, aiming to offer patients many more good days and help them regain their quality of life. 

Dr. Walker is looking forward to meeting all of Dr. Coverdale’s patients who have faithfully supported the practice over the years as well as welcoming new patients to the office.   

In her spare time, Dr. Walker enjoys spending time with her son, practicing yoga, trying new restaurants, and cooking.
